Lawson Lundell LLP is looking for an Intermediate Paralegal to join our Foreclosure/Insolvency team in Vancouver. The role involves handling foreclosures, banking litigation, collection matters, and general litigation, including the enforcement of judgments. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter who thrives in both collaborative team settings for larger litigation cases and independently manages a full portfolio of collections and foreclosure files. The regular working hours for this role are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • File management, including diarizing and prioritization;
  • Drafting of Pleadings;
  • Communicating directly with clients and seeking instructions;
  • Communicating with opposing parties directly;
  • Preparing payout statements;
  • Maintenance of established filing systems and online client managed databases; and
  • Coordinating with other team members on litigation matters including document management and discovery organization.

 

Qualifications

  • Paralegal certification from an accredited institution
  • Experience with foreclosure/collections is an asset
  • Excellent Computer Skills (knowledge of Collectlink/DRN/FCT an asset)
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to quality work
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team orientated environment

 

The typical salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
