About Us:

Miller Law is a small, friendly and busy law firm located in the Metrotown area.  We practice in the area of Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Corporate and Residential Real Estate.  We are looking for a full time highly motivated LAA to join our busy office.  We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits package and parking.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Answering and directing telephone calls

Booking in person and ZOOM appointments

Greeting clients

File opening, file maintenance and organization

Drafting incoming and outgoing correspondence

Performing general office duties such as scanning, copying, saving documents

Liaising with our Lawyer, Paralegal and Legal Assistants on file progress

General administrative duties as required

Maintaining a bring forward system, monitoring and responding to deadlines, extensions and other time sensitive matters

Assisting with closing files

Conduct searches on BC Online and LTSA

Processing cheques, receipts, preparing client invoices and daily deposits using cheque scanner

 

Knowledge, Qualifications and Required Experience:

 

A college diploma or legal certificate (however legal experience will be considered)

A minimum of three (3) years legal experience working in a law office

Experience in probate, trusts, estate administration, estate planning and corporate services

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and adapt to changing demands

Ability to handle the volume of a small busy practice

Courteous and friendly interpersonal skills and telephone manners

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines

Strong organizational and time management skills and an ability to multitask

A passion for providing superior client service

The ability to remain calm under pressure

The ability to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment

A positive attitude with the willingness to learn

The ability to work both independently and within a team

Sound knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel
