Spraggs Law, one of Coquitlam's premier law firms, currently has an opening for a Legal Administrative Assistant! For 50 years, we have served the people of the Tri-Cities, delivering results that meet their needs. We work in teams comprised of legal assistants, a claims manager/paralegal, and a lawyer. A claim team helps a client through the entire process – from choosing Spraggs Law to reaching a final settlement or judgment.

Position Summary 

Within this collaborative model, you are responsible for carrying out the administrative tasks required to effectively manage a claim. Through regular meetings and check-ins with your team, you are provided with direction on tasks that need to be accomplished. 

 

Position: Full-Time, Permanent 

Hours: 8:30-5:00, Monday to Friday (In-Office) 

Compensation: $50,000 - $52,000/year 

 

Key Responsibilities 

As a legal assistant you will spend most of your time: 

  • Updating the internal database with claim information 
  • Drafting and formatting correspondence 
  • Communicating with claim-related vendors 
  • Scanning, copying and filing incoming and outgoing mail 
  • Assembling documents, books and binders 
  • Assisting in trial preparation 
  • Managing documentation and storage of closed claims 

 

Qualifications 

  • Graduate of an accredited legal administrative assistant program and/or have at least one year of experience working at a law firm 
  • Strong attention to detail about ability to effectively prioritize tasks 
  • Demonstrates a pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach to problem solving 
  • Possesses effective organization and time-management skills 
  • An aptitude for using various software packages such as Microsoft Suite and other technological applications including integrated legal software 
  • Experience in a personal injury firm is not a requirement, but it is an asset.
