About the Firm
We are a well-established boutique firm with a dynamic commercial litigation practice, committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients. We value collaboration, professionalism, and a client-focused approach. We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team and provide key support to our litigation lawyers.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and proofread service letters, correspondence, and standard court documents with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
- Prepare and conduct conflict checks in accordance with firm policies.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of Chambers records, including document binders and court filings.
- Coordinate service and filing of court documents at various levels of court, ensuring compliance with BC Supreme Court Rules and deadlines.
- Manage and maintain electronic and physical litigation files, including opening, closing, and ongoing file maintenance.
- Schedule hearings, discoveries, and meetings; manage lawyers’ calendars and court dates.
- Support billing processes, including preparing invoices and responding to general accounting requests.
- Liaise professionally with clients, counsel, court staff, and internal team members.
- Perform general administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in commercial or civil litigation.
- Legal Administrative Assistant diploma or equivalent education preferred.
- Strong knowledge of BC litigation rules, court procedures, and document formatting requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to draft clear, concise, and professional correspondence.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with MS Office and legal practice management software; experience with Soluno is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collegial team, demonstrating initiative and a client-focused approach.
- Professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $60,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
