Description
Pacific Law Group is expanding due to increased client demand.
Our firm is a highly regarded and leading firm with a range of practice areas. We have secured numerous noteworthy results at both trial and appellate levels of court. We pride ourselves on exceptional client service in a friendly work environment. Our offices are close to the Vancouver Courts in downtown Vancouver, with advanced technology and support services. Once established with their teams for a few months, paralegals have an option to work each week partly or mainly from their home offices. The position can be either four or five day per week.
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal who is a graduate of a recognized Paralegal program and who has a minimum of two years’ experience in civil litigation, preferably with an emphasis on plaintiff injury or insurance defence claims.
The ideal candidate is someone who works well both independently and on a team, has strong organizational and drafting skills, and enjoys a challenging and interesting file load that provides an opportunity to excel in one’s career. Proficient computer skills are essential, including MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Experience with Worldox GX4 is an asset.
Duties and responsibilities include initial file review, drafting initial reporting letters, preparing pleadings, record gathering, assisting with preparation for examinations for discovery and trials, post-discovery work-up, drafting notices of application and affidavits for various chambers applications, preparing lists of documents and briefs of authorities, preparing and analyzing bills of costs, legal research, and other duties as required.
We take a team approach with a lawyer, LAA and paralegal on files, with additional support provided by our Office Services Department. This enables paralegals to work principally on paralegal rather than administrative assistant tasks.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with level of experience. Additionally, there is a generous productivity bonus for those who exceed the annual billing expectation of 1200 hours (which our paralegals find they can exceed). Although exceeding that expectation is not required, some of our paralegals receive up to an additional $20,000 to $30,000 a year as a productivity bonus.
Please email your covering letter, résumé, and list of references to [email protected]. We appreciate all applications, but only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
