We also have a sick leave policy and allow our employees to use that time as necessary for themselves, family, etc. We aren’t really partial on the actual use of the days. Beyond the sick days we typically allow employees to take unpaid time of if requested or give them the option to use their vacation time if they prefer. We keep an eye of time off and if it becomes excessive and/or impacts an employee’s performance.
