Description

Hunter Litigation Chambers is a Vancouver-based litigation boutique comprised of a team of lawyers who practice exclusively in dispute resolution. The firm’s practice areas include commercial litigation and arbitration, class actions, labour and employment, criminal and regulatory matters, as well as constitutional and administrative law. We are seeking a highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented individual who is a strong team player and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. The successful candidate takes pride in strong work habits and will join us in a full-time capacity as a Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant, providing support to a team of experienced trial lawyers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing, compiling, and organizing court materials, including books, binders, and documents (photocopying, scanning, and binding as required).
  • Opening, maintaining, and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures, including conflict checks and file intake processes.
  • Maintaining and actively managing bring-forward systems to track deadlines, follow-ups, and outstanding tasks.
  • Assisting with billing processes, including time entry, preparation of accounts, and expense tracking.
  • Performing general administrative duties, including filing, data entry, document management, and maintaining organized office systems.
  • Conducting online registry and corporate searches and obtaining relevant filings and records.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, court registries, opposing counsel, and third parties to support efficient file progression.
  • Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including email and mail, and ensuring electronic and physical files are current and well organized.
  • Preparing court materials such as books of authorities, trial binders, and application records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with formatting requirements.
  • Filing documents with the court (electronically and in person, as required) while ensuring compliance with applicable deadlines and procedural rules.
  • Assisting with monthly billing processes and supporting lawyer time entry as required.
  • Managing lawyers’ calendars, emails, and active file lists.
  • Scheduling court appearances, discoveries, and examinations, and coordinating with court registries as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with litigation document management software, preferably Local Discovery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and high volumes of work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while consistently meeting strict deadlines.
  • Client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Sound professional judgment, discretion, and a proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to evolving priorities and deadlines.
