What you can expect:
We currently have an opening in our Vancouver office for a driven Wills and Estates LAA. This role requires an individual who is organized, effective at multi-tasking and detail oriented, with strong communication and people skills. Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to:
- Performing conflict searches, opening files, completing client identification/verification and preparing retainer letters.
- Maintaining and organizing files and documents.
- Formatting documents.
- Preparing trust deposits, trust cheque requests, trust transfers, investment deposits and redemptions, billing and generating monthly WIP and AR Reports.
- Sending and receiving letters with or without enclosures, as well as with or without courier.
- Calendar organization for lawyers including scheduling telephone, video conference and in-person client meetings, booking boardrooms and setting up virtual meetings using Zoom and Teams; and
- Other administrative duties as required.
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an LAA, with a strong focus on Wills and Estates
- A Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Previous experience using iManage, Acumin, BC Online. BC Registry Services and MYLTSA
- Strong technical proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
- Ability to manage a high volume of work and shifting priorities while meeting deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with WESA
- Professional judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing demands and deadlines
Compensation:
The typical salary range for this position is $63,000-$70,000 per year. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related skills/knowledge, experience, and internal and market equity.
